Who we are

AreaIQ (areaiq.uk) is a UK property intelligence platform providing free property price data, school ratings and area guides. We are committed to protecting any personal data you share with us.

What data we collect

AreaIQ is primarily a static information site. We collect minimal personal data:

• Usage data: Anonymous analytics via privacy-respecting tools (page views, referral sources, time on page). No personal identifiers are captured in analytics.
• Affiliate clicks: When you click an affiliate link (such as L&C Mortgages or My Home Move), you will be redirected to a third-party site which may set its own cookies and collect data per its own privacy policy. We receive an anonymised confirmation of completed transactions for commission purposes only.
• Contact enquiries: If you contact us by email, we retain your email address and message content solely to respond to your enquiry.

Cookies

AreaIQ uses functional cookies required for the site to operate correctly. We do not use advertising or profiling cookies. Our analytics may set a first-party analytics cookie with a 90-day expiry. Third-party affiliate links will redirect to sites that operate their own cookie policies.

Legal basis for processing

We process usage data on the basis of legitimate interests (improving our service and understanding traffic patterns). Contact data is processed on the basis of consent (you initiated the contact).

Data retention

Analytics data is retained in aggregated, anonymised form. Email correspondence is retained for up to 12 months, after which it is deleted unless ongoing correspondence requires retention.

Third parties

AreaIQ does not sell, rent or share personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. Affiliate partners (L&C Mortgages, My Home Move) receive only anonymised transaction confirmation for commission tracking. These partners operate their own privacy policies, which you should review before using their services.

Your rights
